The responsibility of overseeing a Real Estate company’s accounting operations can be a daunting task, especially when one is responsible and accountable on a daily basis to literally hundreds of agents and a full and part-time staff of corporate employees.
JoAnne Brown, Signature Real Estate Companies’ Controller, has met that challenge with the same commitment and dedication that earned her industry wide recognition and kudos from her work at health care profit, non-profit and academic institutions in New York and Ohio.
JoAnne earned both a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting at Queens College and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management. She is a licensed Florida Realtor, holds prestigious designations as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
Joanne began her career in Financial Management in 1999, where she was hired as a Senior II Auditor and Senior Associate for Lobe and Troper and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, two prestigious New York based Public Accounting firms.
Joanne later became an Internal Auditor for Columbia University before a six year run as the controller for The New 42nd Street Inc., where she managed the company’s accounting and financial operations that oversaw historic theatre redevelopment and its district Real Estate operations in downtown Manhattan.
Relocating to Columbus Ohio in 2012, Joanne became the Internal Auditor for the OhioHealth Corporate System and Finance Manager for The Physician Group for three and one half years.
In September, 2016, Joanne became Signature Real Estate Companies’ Controller where her expertise working for Financial Management corporations has made her an invaluable source for guaranteeing Signature’s assets are in order.
